Sarawak’s living museum, the Sarawak Cultural Village is the best destination to learn about the diverse communities and cultures in Sarawak. Visitors to the village will be given a cutural passport which they can stamp at the different houses highlighting each ethnic group in Sarawak. There are also scheduled cultural performances every day, which is definitely the highlight of the visit. Journey takes about 45-minute drives from Kuching along the countryside with a scenic view contrasted by the green mountain and the blues sea. Explore the live replicas of the 7 representative houses: Chinese Farm House, Malay Stilted House, Melanau Tall House, Penan Hut and longhouses of the Bidayuh, Iban and Orang Ulu. Taste the village’s delicious cookies. Try your hands on their delicate craftwork and their warm hospitality. You will be entertained with 45 minutes of the spectacular cultural dance performance by the various ethnic people of Sarawak at the air-conditioned village theatre. After tour complete, back to hotel.
